1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (browser) when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, recognize you on return visits and function properly.
iCars.md uses cookies to provide a functional and optimized experience. This policy explains which cookies we use and why.
2. Types of cookies we use
1. Essential cookies (cannot be disabled)
Strictly necessary for the site to work: authentication, security, session. Without them, the site cannot function properly.
2. Functional cookies
Remember your preferences (language, region). They do not identify you personally.
3. Analytics cookies
Help us understand how the site is used (popular pages, navigation behavior). Data is aggregated and anonymous. We use Google Analytics with anonymized IP.
4. Marketing cookies
We currently do not use marketing/advertising cookies on iCars.md.

4. localStorage (local storage)
Besides cookies, we use localStorage — a local storage mechanism in your browser. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is NOT sent to the server.
We use localStorage for:
- favorite_ids: the list of listings you saved as favorites
- compare_ids: the list of listings selected for comparison
This data stays on your device only. You can delete it anytime from your browser settings.
5. How to control cookies
You can manage cookies in several ways:
- From your browser: your browser settings allow blocking/deleting cookies. Note — without essential cookies, the site will not work properly.
- Incognito/private mode: cookies are deleted automatically when the window is closed.
- Browser extensions: Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, etc.
